Forest School Programs

At West Coast Forest School we offer full day 9:00am to 4:00pm Spring Break and Summer Break Camp Forest School programs in collaboration with Saanich and Westshore Recreation. Register by phone or online at Saanich RecOnline or using Westshore’s Online Registration platform.

Our Forest School Programs offer children a breath of fresh air (pun intended). So much of their lives are caught up in structure and routine. We provide a balance of powerful, simple routines to enhance their experience in nature with an abundance of child-led exploration and play.

The children direct the activities and the flow of the day based on their interests.

Our leaders are experienced, professional childcare workers and educators and we pride ourselves on the amount of learning that takes place at Forest School. Children build self-esteem, resilience, problem-solving skills, social-skills, they learn about plants, animals, weather and more! They do all of this naturally. Without ever having to hear a lecture, or study and often without even knowing they were learning at all. Check out the links below for more information about our Spring Break and Summer Break Forest School programs.

West Coast Forest School endeavours to continue a legacy of stewardship within all the parks we use so that future generations of people and wildlife are able to enjoy them equally as much as we do. We respectfully acknowledge that our camps take place in the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples represented by the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples represented by the Tsartlip, Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tseycum and Malahat Nations. We are extremely grategul for this beautiful land upon which we get to learn and play.
